2024 is set to be the one of the biggest years for Emotive Landscapes – both literally and figuratively. Our 10th Anniversary Year has begun with a bang with some very exciting landscape and design projects and our largest undertaking to date with the build of our new agricultural barn here at Emotive Landscapes HQ in Cheltenham.

Our Progress

It may be April 2024 and it feels like it has not stopped raining since 2004 but we have not let the miserable soggy conditions hold up progress on ‘The Big Build’.

On a particularly cold but significant day for the team in January, we set out the groundworks poured the concrete, and the build began. When we moved to the site here in Shurdington in 2021 we inherited a dilapidated glasshouse building and neglected land from a previous landscaping business.

We had a big clean up task ahead, and it took many months and investment to re-vitalize the site. We rebuilt the Glasshouses and cleared up the land so we could repurpose the site to support our growing landscape and nursery business.

Fast forward to 2024 and with the company growing and the needs of the business to support that growth changing – we are moving out of our temporary portacabin office into a purpose-built agricultural barn. The Barn has been sympathetically designed to blend as much as possible into the natural landscape. A steel frame portal building made from concrete and green agricultural steel cladding, it will be a critical component in the plans to develop our nursery business to support garden and landscaping businesses across Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.

Supplying our own Plants & Trees

Many of our customers, designers/landscapers, and landscaping businesses that we work in partnership with source their plants overseas. Emotive Landscapes is diversifying to support this demand. The new barn will provide the necessary facilities for us to import screening plants, hedging, and pleached trees from the best growers in northern Europe, whilst also increasing production of our own home-grown plants and trees for sale on to trade and our customers.

This will provide a more sustainable way for product to be sourced cost effectively and significantly locally, whilst also giving back to the local economy and infrastructure as we continue to expand and employ more staff. From six member of staff back in 2021 when we took over the Glasshouses to currently fourteen and rising – the future looks exciting.

It’s springtime and The Glasshouses are flourishing with greenery and growth in preparation for going out to our exciting client projects. We are busy nurturing and building our stock which also supports our maintenance side of the Emotive Landscape business. Often clients rely on our expertise and knowledge to maintain their beautiful newly designed and landscaped areas once they are completed.

Here at Emotive Landscapes we find it hard to let go – so after we’ve thoughtfully designed, implemented and completed your vision, we understand that keeping and developing that creation as it prospers can take time and dedication. This can vary between clients and projects and depends upon specific needs and scale of the landscape/garden.

We can offer a full service from selecting and growing the plants to design – bringing your ideas to life, building that vision using our very experienced/professional team of landscapers and then helping you maintain and manage your lovely new landscape.

2024 has only just begun, the days are getting longer, the weather is hopefully getting warmer, and our Glasshouses are getting greener and fuller by the day. Spring has officially sprung and  ‘Big’ things are going on and up at Emotive Landscapes so watch this space…………
